This Privacy Notice is written in plain language so every parent can understand exactly how RealityRoot handles your information and your child's information.

We collect the minimum information needed to deliver the programme. We do not share it. We do not sell it. We do not use it for anything other than what is described in this notice.

1. Who We Are

RealityRoot is a critical thinking and media literacy programme for children aged 8 to 12 in India. It is operated by Dr. Saurabh Chandrakar, founder of RealityRoot Initiative, based in India.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to deliver the programme and measure its outcomes. Nothing more.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used for four purposes only:

We do not use your information for advertising, marketing to third parties, commercial profiling, or any purpose not listed above.

4. How We Store and Protect Your Information

Survey response dataPassword-protected Google Sheet. Accessible only to the RealityRoot founder. Family codes used throughout.
WhatsApp communicationsStored on WhatsApp servers. We do not export or store WhatsApp content separately beyond programme delivery needs.
Payment recordsProcessed through Instamojo (paid batches). RealityRoot does not store card or bank account details. Payment records kept for two years.
Access controlNo collaborator, school partner, or community expert has access to your personal data. Only the RealityRoot founder can access data files.

6. Third Party Sharing

We do not share your personal data or your child's personal data with any third party.

This includes: collaborators, school partners, community experts, research institutions, advertisers, and any other individual or organisation. The only exception is anonymised aggregate data used in academic research publications — this data contains no names, no contact details, and no information that could identify any individual family or child.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, every person under 18 is classified as a child. RealityRoot applies the highest level of care to all data relating to enrolled children.

10. Data Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your or your child's personal data, RealityRoot will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it. We will tell you what happened, what data was affected, and what steps we are taking to address it.

11. What We Will Never Do

These are absolute commitments. No exceptions.

  • Sell your data or your child's data to any third party
  • Use your data for advertising or commercial profiling
  • Share your child's name, photograph, or identifying information publicly without your explicit written consent
  • Use your child's survey responses to assess or label their academic ability or behaviour
  • Send you marketing communications unrelated to RealityRoot without your permission
  • Retain your data beyond the periods described in Clause 5
  • Share your testimonial or feedback without asking you first

12. Changes to This Privacy Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make any significant change to how we handle your data, we will notify you via WhatsApp at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The most current version is always available at realityroot.in.

13. Governing Law

This Privacy Notice is governed by the laws of India including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the DPDP Rules 2025. Any dispute relating to this notice is subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.
